Prospect

The short-, medium-, and long-term development goals of the Department are as follows:

I. Short-term Plans

  • Strengthen the instruction of fundamental courses and the planning of research spaces.
  • Promote industry-academia collaboration projects with regional industries.
  • Integrate faculty expertise from related professional fields in the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, and the Department of Electro-Optical Engineering to consolidate experimental facilities and curriculum planning, thereby avoiding resource waste and enhancing competitiveness.

II. Medium-term Plans

  • Collaborate with the industry to develop technologies related to optoelectronic semiconductor materials and devices, integrated circuit (IC) design, microwave communications, and artificial intelligence systems.
  • Expand participation in various research projects and programs.

III. Long-term Plans

  • In coordination with the rapid development of the Central Taiwan Science Park, establish a research and development center for optoelectronic semiconductor materials and devices.
  • In alignment with the National Silicon Island Development Plan, establish a System on a Chip (SoC) R&D center.
  • Participate in the execution of national-level research projects to elevate academic research standards.
